Relationship experts often say that a successful relationship relies on understanding your partner’s love language(s) — words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, etc. However, if she favours the latter, it can be a little tough, consistently seeking out the best gifts for wives.
But we can confirm that presenting your wife with a diamond tennis bracelet, a letterbox flower delivery, or meaning-packed personalised gifts can actually be really rewarding. After all, who doesn’t want to be showered with praise, physical touch and an invite to share their prosecco?
Thankfully, GLAMOUR has curated a detailed list of the best gifts for wives, whether you need a (brilliant) birthday gift, something to say ‘congratulations’, or a Christmas gift she’ll remember for years to come. From blow-the-budget designer gifts to sleek pyjama sets, here’s our wife-friendly wishlist.
Not sold on those gift ideas? No problem. How about self-care essentials like an electric diffuser, a scented candle, or other wellness gifts? Maybe you’re married to a beauty enthusiast who would adore a skincare gift set, a new fragrance, or a foodie who would appreciate one of the best gift hampers stuffed with delicious treats (AKA the perfect wedding anniversary gift). And if your partner is a sentimental soul, then a memorable experience gift, like a getaway or afternoon tea for two, will likely go down a storm. Good luck!
How we chose the best gifts for wives:
While we know what we want, we also quizzed other women – specifically our married friends, mums, and other relatives – on the best gifts they have ever received from their other half. We also prized out of them what is on their wishlists, and asked them to be brutally honest so we can gauge the smaller gifts they’d love as stocking fillers, as well as the dream buy they can’t justify splurging on themselves (but wouldn’t say no from their Mr. Big).
We got our hands on as many samples as we could to consider the following of each: product quality, quantity, aesthetics, price, and value for money. We also probed newlyweds, and those who have been married for decades if the items they have received for special occasions have stood the test of time.
