Quinta Brunson Wore a Pretty Mosaic French Manicure

Quinta Brunson makes art (that would be Abbott Elementary) and wears art (anyone who has ever seen one of her manicures on a red carpet can attest). Living a life so full of creative energy has to be exhausting, but she’s making do.

Maybe after this week, which has her show’s Season 4 finale on the calendar, she can rest a little bit? Until she hosts SNL on May 3, at least.

Before the time for rest and late night come, Brunson had to get the word out about Abbott Elementary Season 4 with an official Emmy’s For Your Consideration event and finale sneak peek at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.

For the April 15 event, she and her fellow cast members took the stage to chat about the beloved show. When it was her turn to take the microphone, Brunson unsurprisingly showed off a great—and very artistic—set of nails. This time, her set was long and oval shaped with a nude base. That’s where the simplicity stopped.

The rest of her nail featured a mosaic of springtime green and blue shades. The colors were held together by thin gold lines in a style that reminded me of Tumblr’s favorite “did you know about this” art form: Kintsugi. The Japanese pottery repair method consists of gluing broken pieces back together and painting the seams with gold powder for a prettier-than-when-it-was-originally-whole effect.

Upon major zoom, it appears tiny gold beads were also utilized. Minimalism had no place in this look, and I have a feeling her go-to manicurist and nail art extraordinaire Temeka Jackson had something to do with that.

While the nails screamed, the rest of Brunson’s look was fairly understated. She wore a pretty brown satin top, brown leather skirt, and matching pumps for the evening, styling her adorable pixie cut in soft waves.

Separate the art from the artist? Not this time, thanks.
